Yasmin Lajoie is a music manager and freelance consultant based in London. An experienced industry executive with a thorough understanding of the global music market and over a decade of experience working with successful artists across the genre matrix. Her career began in the A&R department at EMI, working on artists as diverse as Beirut, Lana Del Rey and Kate Bush; she has since been employed by Sony/ATV and Warner/Chappell.
Yasmin has now worked at Empire for over three years, where she is responsible for the careers of several platinum selling songwriters and producers. She also consults for Giant Artist Management whose roster includes Deerhunter, Mount Kimbie and Anna Calvi.
A committed mentor, keen writer and adept public speaker, Yasmin is an active member of the UK Music Futures Group, the Music Managers Forum and the BRIT Awards voting academy. She also chairs the intersectionality committee at shesaid.so and is on the board of trustees for the charity Open Up Music. In her spare time she hosts a monthly show on Soho Radio, volunteers for Centrepoint and runs a book club called It’s Lit.
