New Facilities 2024

We are very excited to give you a sneak preview of our brand-new campus expansion set to open this year. The new space offers an additional 19,000 square feet spread over two floors at our Penn Street site in Shoreditch. This brings Point Blank’s London campus footprint to 30,000 sq ft in total. As Pete Tong says: “If you’re serious about your music, Point Blank is where you want to be...". From the remarkable new hub/club performance and bar area to the professional standard Dolby Atmos recording studios and high-tech DJ/production suites, this state-of-the-art development enhances our position at the forefront of music education. The New Point Blank Hub & Bar Area

The Hub & bar area is the beating heart of Point Blank. This is where students can relax during the day, catch up with friends, grab a drink or snack from the bar and chill out. During the evenings, the Hub transforms into a live events and club space to host student performances and masterclasses from industry experts. The stage includes a full backline of instruments, a mixer, PA and lighting system all designed to provide a professional audio-visual experience.

Sound Engineering Studios

Solid State Logic SSL has been the professional industry standard for mixing consoles for the past 40 years and have produced many of the chart-topping hits we've heard and continue to hear today. That's why we're adding two more sound engineering studios which feature SSL Duality Delta and SSL Origin mixing consoles. Each room will be equipped with Pro Tools HD, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology, Focusrite Rednet and a wide range of high-quality hardware including microphones, outboard gear and instruments, all carefully chosen to offer our students the best opportunities to hone their craft with industry standard equipment.

Music Production Studios

As well as our two new sound engineering studios, we are adding six brand new music production studios. Each space includes sixteen dedicated workstations complete with up-to-date hardware and software used by professional producers throughout the industry including Mac computers, MIDI keyboards, Push/Maschine controllers, high-quality soundcards and the best DAWs (Ableton Live, Logic Pro). This will allow students to work independently with their own equipment rather than sharing with others or watching demonstrations which is common in other music production institutions.

Pioneer DJ Studio

Designed in collaboration with Pioneer DJ, this room features the latest industry-standard DJ hardware including Pioneer CDJs, DJ mixers, effect units, and headphones. These workstations are designed to replicate the experience of performing in a real DJ booth, allowing students to get hands-on and develop their skills and knowledge with a range of different kit used by professional DJs worldwide. Workstations are equipped with cutting-edge DJ and production software including Ableton Live, Beatport/Beatsource, Logic Pro, Neural Mix Pro, Mixed In Key, Rekordbox, Serato, and Traktor Pro, allowing students to analyse, manage, stream, mix, and record music.

Vocal Performance Studios

At either end of the Hub area, you'll find two dedicated singing studios designed to enhance vocal training and prepare students for real-world performances. Each room is equipped with a PA system, enabling students to develop their performing skills and techniques. The first room shares its stage with the communal Hub/club area. This unique setup effectively transforms the room into a backstage section allowing vocal performance students to experience the energy and atmosphere of a live performance environment. This will provide an authentic behind-the-scenes experience, familiarising students with the backstage dynamics of a professional music venue.

Practice Studios & Vocal Booths

We know that having the freedom to book studio time is high priority and that's why we are introducing another nine music production practice rooms and four vocal booths which will be available for our students to book 7 days a week. This will ensure students have ample time and space to work on their projects, collaborate with peers and cultivate their skills. Each practice room will be equipped with Mac computers, Universal Apollo Soundcards, Roland drum machines, Push 3 and NI Maschine controllers, various synths and more.

Student Services & Support

The Welcome Lobby incorporates the Student Experience area where our students can find academic advice, career counselling, financial aid assistance and enrolment services. In the Library, students can find a range of books and resources, as well as a tranquil space to relax and work on their projects. Breakout booths provide even more space where students can take a pause, speak to members of staff or engage in casual conversations with their friends.
