What’s the salary outlook for a podcast producer in 2024?

The salary outlook for podcast producers in 2023 depends largely on a number of factors. Podcast producers can make money by working for companies or be independent/freelance. The money you make could be a monthly salary, a day rate or a share of the podcast’s revenue - i.e. the income generated by advertising and sponsorship.

Entry level salary: £25,000 to £35,000

Day rate range: £125 to £300

Those figures can rise quickly as you gain more experience and work on bigger, more successful podcasts. Some podcast producers make £80,000 or charge day rates of £400. In cases where the producer owns a share of advertising/sponsorship revenue, the sky is the limit! For example, the popular podcast “Diary of A CEO” generated £1m from advertising & sponsorship in 2021, and is still growing today. A 20% share is a nice sum!
