Music Futures—Day Event 2023

Held on the dance floors of fabric, the iconic London venue on Thursday 20th April 2023 from 10am – 5pm, Music Futures will allow you to explore multiple pathways into the music industry and speak to a broad range of specialists in their field.

Point Blank is bringing together representatives from across the music industry and music education to our offer holders, current students and graduates. Not only will you get to meet our course advisors, lecturers and students within the famous walls of fabric, but there will also be many opportunities for you to speak to our industry partners, connect and engage in activities including workshops, panel discussions and a whole lot more.

Room 1—Industry Partners

Meet a range of Point Blank's industry partners and get the chance to try out their latest products and offerings. This is your chance to speak in person with a wide range of industry profiles such as Ableton, Pioneer DJ, ADAM Audio, Spitfire Audio and find out anything you want to know about careers in their particular field of work. There will also be university representatives who you can talk to and learn more about further education.

Room 2—Panel Discussions & Keynote Speakers

Throughout the day we will be holding panel discussions, inviting Point Blank alumni and industry experts to offer advice and tips how you can turn your studies into successful and fulfilling careers. We will also be inviting a keynote speaker (TBC) to give their personal insights. Last year's panel topics included Meet Our Alumni / Get Synced—Music In Media / Women In Music / Hardware, Software, Everywhere / Jobs In The Industry / What is A Record Deal, and a Q&A With Stevie Wonder's manager, Keith Harris. ROOM 3 / MEZZANINE—Mentoring

Up in Room 3 and on the mezzanine we will be offering exclusive 15-minute mentoring slots to our current students. There will be a variety of profiles to choose from, from Point Blank lecturers and alumni to artists, independent label representatives and promoters.
