International Women's Day 2021

To celebrate International Women's Day 2021 we are hosting a Choose to Challenge virtual panel debate with a select number of guest speakers who represent different areas of the industry:

• Yasmin Lajoie - Artist Manager, A&R, Slay Music / Empire Management
• Francine Perry - Producer & Studio Engineer, Omnii Collective
• Lashawna Rose - Radio Presenter & DJ, Reprezent / IAMNEXT/ Ultrabeam
• Carys Evans - Music Educator, DJ Events Producer,  Ark Schools/ DJ Matanna

The theme of IWD 2021 is Choose to Challenge - call out inequality and we encourage participation in the discussion from everyone, no matter your gender, background or experience, as we try to create understanding and build awareness of the challenges that women face in our industry.

We want this event to be as interactive as possible, so we are calling on you to submit some key talking points. We request that you submit themes, questions or statements for the panellists to debate during the session.

Here's an example of the type of statements we are looking for:

'The more artists like Cardi B use sexuality to boost their brand and popularity the more difficult it will become for female artists to be taken seriously in the industry'. 

At the start of the event, you will be asked to vote anonymously via the poll feature in Zoom, illustrating what degree you agree or disagree with the statements. We will then hand over to the panel to explore the results in more detail.
