Point Blank Perspectives

Making it in music with Elisabeth Troy (MJ Cole / Clean Bandit)

Make sure you book your place to join us on Thursday 28 May, as we get some industry insight from Eliabeth Troy.

Elisabeth Troy has one of the most distinctive voices in modern music. She has had an electrifying career which began in the Jungle and Hardcore scenes of the early nineties. Whilst still a teen she became known as a pioneer and force to be reckoned with in both underground and mainstream dance music, achieving a massive underground club hit on Bass Selective's 'Blow Out Part II' and a huge top 40 with the classic 'Greater Love'.

Elisabeth has toured all over the world with a diverse range of musicians, honing her performance skills with acts such as S.O.U.R. records, soul and funk legends Incognito, and Prog Rock stalwart Fish from Marilliion.

She consolidated her reputation as a dynamic vocalist and writer with her ground-breaking work on MJ Cole's gold selling album Sincere which spawned the top ten hit and now Garage classic, 'Crazy Love.' With her many appearances on programmes such as Top of the Pops and Later with Jools Holland testify to the power of her live performances. Elisabeth has shown time and again that she can turn her hand to any genre and make it her own. The success of her collaboration ('Fever') with digital soundboy leading lady B Traits has introduced her to a new audience and brought her almost full circle to a sound reminiscent of her Jungle and Hardcore roots.

Ever forward-looking, Elisabeth's recent collaboration with the hugely successful Clean Bandit has found her once again at the cutting edge of popular music. Initially a writer and performer on their debut album New Eyes, she became their live lead singer and front woman, touring globally and performing at major events and venues including Glastonbury, Coachella and the Hollywood Bowl to name just a few.

Elisabeth's versatility and curiosity have led her to explore many musical territories. She has a rare ability successfully to blur the lines between dance music and more traditional singer/songwriter genres.

Notable live tours include:

Fish (Marillion) | Tom Jones | Incognito | D’Influence | Anastacia | Primal Scream | Matt Bianco | Clean Bandit| MJ Cole | Elisabeth Troy (Her Own)
