As a consequence of lockdown (and importantly looking beyond the coronavirus pandemic too), Point Blank is proud to be ahead of the curve in delivering a fantastic student experience whether on campus or online and are happy to include all the exclusive features for students listed here.
Songwriting is the backbone of the music industry. In the Songwriting course you spend time in the studio with professional songwriters who have worked with artists such as Jamelia, Bob Marley, Warren G, Sugababes, All Saints and more. You'll learn how contemporary songs are put together and what makes them successful. If you want to write songs and make a living from your music, then it's essential that you have an understanding of music theory, composition, lyric-writing and arrangement techniques. We also look at the music industry and explore copyright, publishing and promotion. Practical exercises form an integral part of this course and students are expected to be able to play an instrument or have some experience in music production software such as Logic Pro or Ableton Live.
