While the radio format is over 100 years old, it's never been more innovative or its audiences more passionate than now. Point Blank's record for producing the next generation of radio talent means we're experts not only in the fundamentals of the format, but in mastering current trends and innovating for the future. As a producer, it's your job to maintain high broadcasting standards while continuing to look at how the platform is evolving – our Radio Production Certificate is perfect for both. The likes of Gemma Cairney (BBC Radio 1, Channel 4), Monki (BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra) and Josh Dowler (Rinse FM, BBC Radio 1) have already been taught by our expert instructors. Studying at Point Blank isn't just about our award-winning courses – meeting like-minded people in a creative environment can lead to amazing collaborations. Ollie Ashley went on be an intern at Rinse FM after meeting Monki during his Radio course, and later launched his own successful station – Radar Radio. With modules like Radio Business and Future Trends of Radio, this is a comprehensive course for an ever-expanding medium.

Professional and Career Development Loans are commercial bank loans that can be used to help pay for work related learning. You can borrow between £300 and £10,000 to help support the cost of up to two years of learning (or three years if it includes one year’s relevant unpaid practical work). The Government will pay the interest on the loan while you are learning and for one month afterwards. You will then need to start repaying the loan as you would any other commercial loans product. The loan can be used to pay course fees or other costs such as travel and living expenses. You can also use the loan to supplement other forms of support such as grants or bursaries. As the Professional and Career Development Loan is a commercial loan product, you should make sure you have investigated all the funding options that may be open to you to ensure you take an informed decision about whether the Loan is right for you. For further information on financial assistance to support your learning visit, click here or contact the National Careers Service on 0800 100 900. Our learning provider registration number is 5742.
