Mixing & Mastering Award

Studio Tour - Book Your Place Now

Visit our state-of-the-art campus and find out more about our courses

The Mixing & Mastering Award is an excellent three month package for more advanced producers who want to be able to complete the recording process independently. A good mix can lift your tracks and learning how to master them yourself will put you in an even stronger position - without being reliant on other sound engineers. You can mix your own track and master your own six track EP as part of this course. To meet the entry requirements you will need to have already completed the Point Blank Introduction to Music Production module or be able to demonstrate appropriate prior learning. You'll be taught by top flight industry professionals who have worked with Klaxons, Bloc Party, Lily Allen, Mystery Jets, Tricky, Carleen Anderson, Franz Ferdinand, Rizzle Kicks, Jamelia, Gorillaz, Kasabian and more. Unlimited practice time included.

What is my timetable?

Award students take two modules. Each module will require your attendance at one daytime class. Please note your classes will be scheduled before the start of each term. Call for details. In addition to classes, students are expected to schedule sufficient practice time at our studio facilities each week. The studio facilities are open 7 days a week, allowing you to gain valuable studio experience and reinforcing the skills learned in class. Students can also book regular 1-2-1 sessions with our instructors outside of class time.

Do you hold Open Days?

We host regular studio tours in the Orsman Road Studio Complex on Wednesdays at 2:00pm. Address: 26 Orsman Road, Hoxton, London, N1 5QJ. The Admissions Team will show you around the facilities, answer questions and help get you enrolled. We will be happy to arrange an alternative time if you are not available during our scheduled tours. In the meantime, watch the London School Video Tour now.

Please make sure you contact us to book a tour as they do not run every Wednesday.

We also host Open Day events every six weeks. Please contact us for more detail.

When should I enrol?

There are four terms per year: January, April, July and September and you can start your course at any of these entry points. However, our courses have limited availability and get booked well in advance, so we recommend enrolling as soon as you are ready to secure your place to avoid disappointment.

Do I need to buy equipment to take the course?

We supply all the equipment you need for your class and for practice time at our studios. You have access to our facilities 7 days a week during term time for the length of your course (excluding scheduled breaks).

If you wish to buy equipment or software for your home studio, remember that Point Blank students qualify for discounts from Apple Education, Ableton, Native Instruments, Pioneer DJ and other leading industry partners.

Where is the course taught?

Courses are delivered at our London campus which comprises of two buildings (on Orsman Road and Penn Street) within 400 metres of each other. Click here for more information on how to find us.
