About the role

We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Student Recruitment & Conversion Officer who has a passion for music education and a proven track record in converting applicants across the student pipeline and securing enrolments for the School.

This role requires a recruitment and conversion professional with meticulous attention to detail, someone who has worked on Higher Education conversion campaigns before and with success. The postholder must understand the higher education cycle, have experience in the marketing of degrees and be able to execute conversion campaigns with good returns in terms of recruitment and growth.

You will be engaging with students who have been through the application process and expressed their intent to study with us. You will help to ensure that they attend the School at the onset of their course. You will have access to the marketing department’s wealth of in-house content and be required to inform students and applicants about a range of exciting events organised by Point Blank, writing original and engaging copy across platforms including newsletters, emails and calling campaigns. With an exceptional writing style and in keeping with the School’s tone-of-voice and style guide, you will be required to create exciting material across key recruitment cycles. Using your experience and knowledge of student recruitment, you will inform our audiences of all successes, activities, opportunities, application deadlines and news from Point Blank. Liaising with applicants on the phone is key.

Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the delivery of informative, inspiring and impactful conversion campaigns with messages that will heighten the prospect’s decision to choose Point Blank whilst strengthening the motivation to enrol at the School throughout the prospect/applicant pipeline.

This role covers but (is not limited to):

  • Managing all conversion projects through the School’s bespoke CRM system.
  • Working to clear business objectives throughout the applicant journey and building on conversion strategies
  • Working with the Sales, Admissions, Events and Recruitment teams to set up and optimise conversion campaigns
  • Management of all conversion material and delivery of key messaging across the digital landscape
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure optimal delivery and to ensure accurate and flawless execution
  • Developing relationships with prospects and applicants to help drive the School’s key business targets
  • Explore new and relevant tactics for conversion
  • Telling student, lecturer and alumni stories to Point Blank’s prospect and applicant community through various channels
  • Assisting in the organisation and delivery of internal and external events
  • Input into the delivery of monthly, quarterly and yearly stats on all conversion campaigns and events
  • Look at ways to maximise efforts within the recruitment cycle for Higher Education audiences
  • Develop methods to assist the conversion pipeline
  • Manage the scheduling and delivery of regular conversion work for the School
  • Collaboration with colleagues to ensure efficient and effective sharing of information and the efficient execution of campaigns
  • Using good news stories from Alumni, current students and partnerships and turning them into conversion messaging including emails and newsletters – ensuring that the Point Blank brand is front-of-mind to all enquirers
  • Undertake any other duties as relevant to the proper execution of the role or as reasonably requested by Head of Department or senior managers within the School



  • Demonstrable, successful experience in a similar marketing conversion role 


  • Experience in HE / Education marketing and conversion roles
  • Experience in conversion planning and creation of content
  • Experience with customer service and meeting the needs of a customer

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to manage all processes across conversion campaigns (copy, build, implementation, optimisation, tracking, reporting etc)
  • Strong communicator and comfortable liaising with new groups of people and from all walks of life (both internal / external stakeholders)
  • Friendly with a natural flair for getting along with all kinds of people
  • Excellent Customer Service approach
  • Experience in sending communications to audiences through Customer Relation Management tools or systems such as Mailchimp
  • Ability to manage annual conversion schedules and execute plans
  • Thorough and well-organised, able to meet multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent written English, impeccable and effective copywriting / proof-reading skills
  • Ability to write for a diverse range of audiences and experience in communicating for student recruitment and conversion



  • Hold a digital marketing qualification or substantial experience in Higher Education marketing
  • Hold a degree level qualification or equivalent


  • Experience in accurate post-conversion reporting on engagement metrics with conclusions and recommendations

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to understand the HE cycle inputting into monthly, quarterly, and yearly conversion reports
  • An understanding of core issues relating to EDI (equality, diversity, and inclusion)
  • Understanding of the music industry and music production techniques
