What is Clearing?

Clearing is for people looking to apply for a higher education course starting in September 2017 who have yet to secure a place. You might apply through Clearing for a number of reasons. Maybe you decided to apply to university after the UCAS application date passed. Perhaps you didn't quite get the grades you wanted, or maybe you've changed your mind about where you want to study.

Who is Clearing for?

You are eligible for Clearing if you have applied in the current application year and one of the following applies to you:

  • Your offers have not been confirmed as you haven't met the conditions (for example, you've missed the required grades and your chosen universities have not accepted you)
  • You applied before 30th June through UCAS and didn't get any offers or declined all your offers
  • You applied after 30th June through UCAS - you will go straight into Clearing
  • You are yet to apply

Step by Step Guide

Step 1 - Choose your route

  • If you don't have an active UCAS profile and you know that you only want to study at Point Blank, you can apply to use directly. Click here to learn more about our entry requirements, application process and to download our application form. 
  • If you have an active UCAS profile or want to apply to us through adjustment, proceed to step 2 below. 

Step 2 - Get your paperwork ready

Have the following information to hand before you call us:

  • Your qualifications and grades
  • Your UCAS ID number 
  • Your date of birth, address and phone number 
  • A link to your online portfolio (if you have one)
  • A list of questions you would like to ask us

Step 3 - Call us

  • Give us a call on 0207 729 4884 and press option 1. Our clearing advisors are available from 10am - 8pm Monday to Friday.
  • You'll have a chat about our courses, the school, your grades and application. You may also be asked to send through a link to your portfolio or attend a Skype interview. 
  • After your assessment, you may be given a verbal offer.

Step 4 - Refer your application

  • If you are offered a place, simply log onto UCAS Track and refer your application. Once we've confirmed your place through Track, you will receive a confirmation email through UCAS.

Step 5 - Update your Student Finance application

  • Don't forget, if you haven't yet completed your Student Finance application, you will need to apply now. Or if you've already applied but your choice of university or course has changed, you will need to update these details on your online account.
