Admissions Advisor

JOB DESCRIPTION: ADMISSIONS ADVISOR

Position Summary: The Admissions Advisor is involved in all aspects of Point Blank’s student recruitment, registration, and enrollment efforts in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. They are responsible for growing enrollment at Point Blank Music School (both Los Angeles campus and Online School) by generating leads and analyzing lead conversion, responding to inquiries, fostering and maintaining relationships with prospective students over the phone and in person, conducting school tours, hosting Open Houses, and walking new students through the entire registration and enrollment process. The Admissions Advisor has an in-depth understanding of our program offerings, financial options, and admissions requirements, enabling them to provide impeccable customer service and to persuade prospective students that Point Blank Music School is the best choice to help them attain their goals in music and higher education.

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Position Schedule: 9:00am – 5:30pm, M-F

Reports to: Music School Manager (direct report; sales) & Chief Academic Officer (indirect report; compliance)

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage program sales, admissions, and enrollment
  • Answer email, phone, and live online chat inquiries promptly and effectively
  • Dialogue with prospective students to determine their educational background and goals
  • Educate prospectives on the benefits of attending Point Blank
  • Communicate appropriate program information and sales points accurately and confidently
  • Work closely with students and parents to determine the most effective tuition financing options including scholarships, grants, and payment plans
  • Proactively follow up with leads efficiently and repeatedly via phone and email
  • Track lead generation and conversion to enrollment
  • Propose new initiatives for increasing lead generation and lead conversion rates
  • Conduct campus tours for interested prospective students and their parents
  • Help plan and conduct Open House events at the Los Angeles campus
  • Register students for both residential and online programs over the phone and in person
  • Assist students with the registration process, ensure proof of high school graduation is obtained and all BPPE-required admissions documentation is completed in compliance with state law
  • Maintain enrollment records in Point Blank’s student database
  • Build and maintain relationships with all students to ensure repeat bookings
  • Attend weekly sales meetings – update supervisors, discuss progress, and develop strategies
  • Attend weekly update meetings with the MSM, CAO, and/or GM
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Departments to organize Masterclasses, Open Houses, and other student events
  • Understand and adhere to all Point Blank Music School policies and state and federal regulations with respect to recruitment and enrollment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of practical work experience in a customer service and/or sales role
  • Experience in meeting monthly/periodic sales goals
  • Excellent oral and written communication and strong administrative/organizational skills
  • Friendly, compelling demeanor and confident, persistent attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Keen interest in music production and/or DJing
  • Knowledge of electronic music and audio software including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Pioneer DJ

General Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to pass a background check
  • Available to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends as needed

Compensation: Competitive pay commensurate with experience and qualifications; starting salary range of $32,000 - $36,000 per year

JOB DESCRIPTION: MUSIC INSTRUCTOR

Position Summary: Music Instructors at Point Blank Music School educate students effectively to prepare them for success in the music industry. They teach classes following the curriculum and guidelines presented in Point Blank’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). They prioritize the student experience and implement established policies designed to provide excellent music instruction, ensuring the institution achieves its mission.

Position Type: Temporary part-time assignments as needed; opportunity for a permanent part-time position.

Reports to: Chief Academic Officer (CAO)

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver class instruction utilizing the prescribed VLE course curriculum
  • Follow the VLE curriculum for instructor-led topics, student exercises, and project-based assignments
  • Develop appropriate learning materials and resources to supplement lessons
  • Participate in curriculum development by completing course evaluations
  • Monitor student attendance and progress; assess student work and record grades
  • Attend teacher training and professional development sessions
  • Understand, implement, monitor, and fairly enforce all relevant institutional policies
  • Understand the school’s mission and educational objectives and strive to attain them at all times

Minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of practical music industry work experience relevant to the subject area(s)
  • Excellent oral and written communication and strong administrative/organizational skills
  • Understanding of teaching methods: planning, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of student learning

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in music or a related field
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the postsecondary level, and/or willingness to undergo training
  • Awareness of different learning strategies suitable for teaching students with a diverse range of abilities
