This is the flagship course at Point Blank Music School - the fast track to a career in the music industry. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to pursue your passion for music whilst also gaining a full BA (Hons) degree in music production, validated by Middlesex University. Featuring these extra modules: Complete DJ, Maschine and Live Sound, it is a multi-platform (Logic or Ableton, Pro Tools and Native Instruments, Maschine and Push), intensive and practical music degree course. Developed and taught by music industry professionals who have worked with Pharrell Williams, Chemical Brothers and Swedish House Mafia to name a few, this 360 experience will ensure your expertise in crucial areas of the music industry such as production, remixing, sound design, studio and live sound engineering, DJing, mastering, how to manage your career (or manage others), making music for TV, film and games, Pro Tools and more. You will be attending our brand new school in Shoreditch which features the best equipment and facilities in the music business. Point Blank is the only school in the world to teach on an SSL Duality Delta mixing console. You can complete this degree course in just two years of power learning. You'll be living in the studios! Lectures are delivered to small classes so you don't miss anything and free unlimited practice time in our state of the art studios is available to you seven days per week.

Yes. This BA (Hons) degree programme is quality assured by Middlesex University and you receive a Middlesex award on successful completion. It is an ideal progression route to a job in the industry.
If you do not wish to take the academic route but still want to take advantage of Point Blank's expert instructors, outstanding facilities and practical hands on style of teaching you can take this course instead: Music Production & Sound Engineering Complete Master Diploma. You will still achieve the in house Point Blank Diploma on successful completion of the course.
The following guidelines are designed to orientate you through entry on to a Higher Education course at Point Blank.
First and foremost, we are looking for people who can demonstrate a) their passion for music and b) an ability to successfully complete a Higher Education programme.
This will initially be assessed through your personal statement which should include any previous study or relevant experience in music. The Admissions Team will look at the merits of each applicant, taking the following evidence into consideration:
Applicants may also be asked to complete a written exercise and/or attend an interview.

If you have copies of your qualifications, please send them to us along with your application form. If you do not have copies of your qualifications or are waiting for your results, you may still submit your application form to be considered.

For courses of 6 months or more: you will most likely need to apply for a Tier 4 Visa. Point Blank has been awarded Tier 4 Sponsor Status and is able to sponsor international students on a Tier 4 Visa as long as applicants satisfy our application criteria. Please refer our International Student Guidance section for more information on the application process. NB: International Students (outside the EU) course fees are subject to a £1000 surcharge.

There are four terms per year: January, April, July and September and you can start your course at any of these entry points. However, our courses have limited availability and get booked well in advance, so we recommend applying as soon as you are ready.
Professional and Career Development Loans are commercial bank loans that can be used to help pay for work related learning. You can borrow between £300 and £10,000 to help support the cost of up to two years of learning (or three years if it includes one year’s relevant unpaid practical work). The Government will pay the interest on the loan while you are learning and for one month afterwards. You will then need to start repaying the loan as you would any other commercial loans product. The loan can be used to pay course fees or other costs such as travel and living expenses. You can also use the loan to supplement other forms of support such as grants or bursaries. As the Professional and Career Development Loan is a commercial loan product, you should make sure you have investigated all the funding options that may be open to you to ensure you take an informed decision about whether the Loan is right for you. Degree and Diploma students take up to four modules concurrently. Each module requires your attendance at either one daytime class (11am-6pm) or two evening classes (6:30pm-9:30pm) per week. Please note your classes will be scheduled before the start of each term. Call for details and to arrange times convenient time for you. In addition to classes, students are expected to schedule sufficient practice time each week. The studio facilities are open to you 7 days a week gaining you valuable studio time and reinforcing the skills learned in class.

Music Production students please note: before you decide to buy equipment for your home studio, remember that all students on the Point Blank Music Production BA (Hons) degree or Diploma courses receive a FREE Point Blank studio setup including KRK monitors, keyboard, soundcard and software. If you are not taking a BA (Hons) degree or Diploma class we will be happy to arrange student discounts from Apple Education, Ableton, Native Instruments, Pioneer and other leading industry partners.
