Course Advisor (London / Online)

Title: Course Advisor (full-time)

Salary: £25,000pa plus quarterly commission

Location: London (currently remote, will move to remote / office based)

 

Role Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer focussed Course Advisor to join the growing Student Recruitment / Course Sales team at our London headquarters in Hoxton (the role will initially be remote / home based due to the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic). 

This role requires a passion for music and education, and experience of delivering accurate, engaging and convincing advice and support to a range of customers across multiple channels (telephone, email, chat, SMS, face to face etc.) in order to drive applications and maximise enrolments to meet ambitious course sales and student recruitment targets.

As a Point Blank Course Advisor, you’ll guide prospective students through the application process, advising them on the courses we offer and services we provide, using your in-depth knowledge of the school, our products, the music production process and the music scene (all genres) to help them choose the option that best suits their learning and career goals.

Reporting to one of our senior Course Advisors, you will act as the initial point of contact for prospective students, providing information, resolving issues and creating a relationship between them and the School. You will support the Senior Couse Advisors and Head of Department with daily tasks and development projects relating to the applicant experience.

Being a flexible and reliable team player is key, as is having a meticulous attention to detail and a passion for the School, its history and the experience we offer each our students. You’ll need an engaging personality, excellent communication and customer service skills, and a can-do attitude. 

In short, you’ll be a music loving, target driven, recruitment professional that enjoys engaging, exciting and converting prospective student by providing a “best in class” customer experience to support course sales and meet student recruitment targets.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for prospective students (phone, email, chat, in person)
  • Maintain EMS (Enquiry Management System) records, updating all key information
  • Support regular student conversion and retention campaigns (phone, email, SMS)
  • Support the planning and delivery of recruitment events (Open Days / Sample Classes)
  • Attend external recruitment and outreach events (exhibitions, career fairs, school events)
  • Host physical / virtual tours of the school’s buildings / facilities for prospective students
  • Coordinate communications relating to internal / external events (phone, email, SMS)
  • Track event attendee numbers, updating EMS records and providing reports as needed
  • Track enquiries and applications providing regular updates to key internal stakeholders
  • Support other teams at busy periods during the year (Admissions and Student Services)
  • Engage in internal / external training and events relevant to the role / student recruitment
  • Action other duties as reasonably requested by Head of Department or senior managers

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent 
  • Experience in student recruitment, course advisor or customer service roles 
  • Experience using music production and / or DJing hardware and software 
  • Good knowledge of current music trends that you can transfer into your role 
  • Excellent spoken / written English and good attention to detail 
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) 
  • Thorough and well-organised, able to manage multiple tasks at once 
  • Strong communicator, comfortable liaising with internal / external stakeholders 
  • Enthusiastic, passionate and solution focused, able to problem solve effectively
  • Team-player, can work with people from all disciplines, backgrounds and abilities
  • Ambitious, highly motivated, customer focussed and target driven
  • Understanding of music industry careers and advanced production techniques
