Week 10 Career Activities: 5th December

This is the first of three events held during Week 10 where you can take part in our panel talks, mentoring, and speed networking events. This is a chance to hear our panelists stories, meet other Point Blank students, scout for collaborations and book 1-2-1 mentoring sessions with our guest speakers.

If you would like to attend the panel talk and/or networking event for Monday 5th December, then please scroll to the bottom of this page to book your place. Once booked, you will later receive a separate email to reserve a 1-2-1 session with a mentor.

Please note:

  • As spaces are limited, you may only book one slot with one mentor over the course of the week, so please take care when booking your appointment. If you book two mentors, then both slots will be cancelled.
  • You may book and are encouraged to attend multiple networking and panel discussion events.

SPEED NETWORKING

Are you a singer looking for a producer? Or perhaps a producer looking for a vocalist? Do you need an engineer to mix or master one of your tracks? Maybe you're a manager and want to find an artist to work with, or an artist looking for a manager?

This activity aims to facilitate students with different skillsets and artistic backgrounds to join forces and collaborate on your projects. It's a great opportunity to meet new people from other courses, create long lasting friendships, and who knows, maybe you'll meet the Paul McCartney to your John Lennon?

The event will run from 7pm-9pm.

GUEST SPEAKERS

Vivienne Chi

Vivienne Chi has shown remarkably clear vision in her songwriting, her music dances on lyrical narratives of belonging, heartache & the darker sides of London’s excessive lifestyle. Vivienne’s signature sound can be described as a fusion of Alt-pop, Electro & Indie. Her string of singles have quickly gathered over 3 million Spotify streams plus support & airplay on BBC Introducing and reputable playlists such as Spotify Fresh Finds.

Aneesá-Marie

Emerging on the neo-soul scene in 2016 with the SB.TV-approved “We Are”, Trinidadiannative Aneesa’ Marie immediately struck listeners with her mellifluous vocals, soonbecoming a SoundCloud sensation. Gracing transcendent beats, frequently produced by Billboard-charting hitmaker P. Soul (Erykah Badu, Joey Bada$$, YBN Cordae), her semi-autobiographical lyrics explore the remedial and the sensual with an almost poetic slant, often serving to guide and uplift listeners through testing times.

Jay Henry

Jay Henry is an acclaimed international Session Vocalist & Celebrity Vocal coach for The Voice UK. He has performed on some of the biggest stages, including The London 2012 Olympic Games with George Michael. He's had the pleasure of working with the late legendary Arranger and Producer Phil Ramone at Philharmonica World Tour. He's toured and recorded with Craig David, Luther Vandross, Will.i.am, Geri Horner from the Spice Girls,Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, George Michael, Simply Red, Pet Shop Boys, Elton John, Mariah Carey Asward, Kd Lang, Gloria Estefan, Will Young and Jessie J, to name but a few.
