Meet our alumni / Room 2 / 11:00

Florentia

Dubbed an ‘Up & Coming Talent’ and 'rising star' by global phenomenon elrow, FLORENTIA is cementing herself as one of the UK’s most exciting fresh artists from London/Essex, as she catapults into the hub of the dance music realm. Despite her age, she has accomplished things that others strive for their entire career, such as securing an elrow residency and landing debuts in the hedonistic white isle Ibiza on their world-super clubs, Amnesia and Ushuaïa. FLORENTIA studied Point Blank’s BA (Hons) Music Production & Sound Engineering Degree and now rubs shoulders with the upper echelons of electronic music.

Funk Cartel

Raised with a powerful connection to house music, it was only natural for the brotherly duo, Funk Cartel, to collect, share and create music from a young age. It was this early passion for music that gave them a deep understanding and love for the house genre. Developing themselves as artists and DJs, they are known for their high energy performances on the decks, with live sets frequently stacked with their own distinctive edits and original tracks. The pair studied the Music Production & Sound Engineering degree at Point Blank London, where they honed their craft and transformed their passion for electronic music into a way of life. Recent highlights for Rory and Cam Cochrane aka Funk Cartel include signing to Point Blank Recordings and teaming up with the iconic soul legends Ultra Naté and Kathy Sledge for two certified anthems, ‘Supernatural’ and ‘Party Out’, as well as winning the ADAM Audio Award.

Adam Scivoletto (ATOM UK–Charge Recordings)

In 2012, Adam studied Point Blank’s Advanced DJ Course, followed by the Music Production & Sound Engineering Diploma, going on to achieve tangible success in the music industry. A regular at the historic Bar Rumba nights in central London, Adam Scivoletto A.K.A. ATOM UK, was aware of veteran Mampi Swift, witnessing his incredible sets week after week. Fast forward 15 years and, by chance, Adam’s mastering engineer sent his music onto Swift, emphasising his talent and his ambition to find a home for his work. Shortly after, ATOM UK was signed exclusively to Mampi Swift’s Charge Recordings and subsequently worked alongside Mampi as label manager, running the everyday workings of the label. A DJ who plays across the entire drum & bass spectrum, he has since featured on Kiss FM, Rough Tempo and hosted his own show on Flex FM with DJ Coda. With tracks on the Mampi Swift Victory Rose LP, plus solo release “Tearout / How We Do It” and a brand-new remix and vocoder on the Hidden History LP, lookout for more from this uprising talent.

Tailor Jae

Tailor Jae is an East London native that lives and breathes technicality. A self-taught DJ, she is famed for quick mixes and high energy sets. Coining herself as “genreless at heart and heavy on the bass”, her unique approach to DJing has seen her leading various workshops with brands such as Saffron and Keep Hush. In 2017, she beat over 2000 DJs to be claimed the winner of Mixmag’s DJ competition and has continued to grow from there, with her efforts rewarding her a Scholarship at Point Blank music school in 2018. In 2019, she had her first release signed to London label szns7n, alongside duo Traces, and has had numerous features on platforms such as BBC AZN, Rinse FM, Rinse France, Reprezent, Kiss FM, Mixmag Lab, Foundation FM, Pioneer DJ Radio, Cashmere Radio (Berlin), Selector Radio, Keep Hush and Resident Advisor. In 2020, she captured the ears of Toddla T and delivered a spiralling mix on his BBC Radio 1 show, which then followed with a series of guest mixes for DJ Target and Nick Bright on BBC 1Xtra. Following with mixes for Berlin’s Inverted Audio, which was consequently picked as Resident Advisor’s mix of the day, Tailor went on to record an RA podcast shortly after, which was noted as a standout mix for its approach to rule-breaking, genre-bending and seamlessness. Tailor, who at the start of 2021 was highlighted in DJ Mag’s selection of ones to watch, studied Point Blank’s Music Production & DJ Diploma and is now one of the most sought-after DJs in today’s circuit. You can find her on Instagram and Soundcloud.
