This course will take you from scratching your head to scratching vinyl and filling dance floors all in a weekend. If you’re new to DJing but have always wanted to learn to mix using vinyl or CDJs then this is the course for you! Come and spend 2 days at Point Blank’s state-of-the-art studios and learn how to mix alongside a pro DJ!
This is a no-nonsense class for those who are serious about learning to DJ in a short space of time. Every student will have their own workstation to get plenty of hands-on experience with the latest Pioneer DJ equipment. You’ll learn how to set up your workstation, learn about beats, bars and phrasing, drop mixing, styles and tempos, beat matching, crossfades, effects and lots more including all the insider tips ‘n’ tricks of the trade from our pro lecturers. You’ll be joining a global alumni community with some of the biggest names in music, engaging with the wider Point Blank community and you’ll also have access to all the exclusive features for students listed here.

Depending on your programme, certain pieces of hardware and software will be essential throughout your studies at Point Blank.
To help with your independent learning and assessment work, you will need to have access to this equipment outside of the campus. However, if you are able to attend classes on-campus, this equipment will be available to use either in-class or by booking practice time. Note that you have access to our facilities 7 days a week during term time for the length of your course (excluding scheduled breaks).

Where you may choose to study online (distance learning), this equipment will be essential to your studies and assignment work. If for any reason you cannot afford to purchase an essential item, you may be eligible for financial support via the hardship fund. More information about this can be found here.
If you wish to buy equipment or software for your home studio, remember that Point Blank students qualify for discounts from Apple Education, Ableton, Native Instruments, Pioneer DJ and other leading industry partners.
Weekend courses take place on Saturday and Sunday. Each Saturday and Sunday class starts at 11am and ends at 6pm.
