Sponsored by Pioneer, our DJ Studio offers a fantastic variety of the latest and best DJ kit you can lay your hands on. Many top DJs are successful because they produce music: their profile is raised, promoters hear about them and invite them to play more gigs. This is a three month course, two lecture days per week, designed to give students a fantastic start in the world of DJing. You'll cover everything you need to know about DJing and gain great insights into the world of Music Production using either Logic Pro or Ableton Live. The course is taught by professional DJs and music producers with extensive industry experience who have worked with Wu Tang, Estelle, Omar and Sway amongst others, plus you get unlimited access to supervised practice time in our studios. As well as being a Pioneer and Apple Training Centre, Point Blank offers its students the best equipped Ableton Live facility in the world including seventeen sought after Push 2 controllers, one for each student. This course includes a free Apple Logic 101 exam and text book.
2 daytime classes (11am - 6pm) or 4 evening classes (6.30 - 9.30pm)
This course allows you to take advantage of Point Blank's expert instructors, outstanding facilities and practical hands on style of teaching without taking the academic route. You will receive a Point Blank Certificate on successful completion.
If you wish to gain accreditation you can apply for one of our accredited courses instead e.g. BA (Hons) Music Production & Sound Engineering which is quality assured by Middlesex University and for which you receive a Middlesex award on successful completion. It is an ideal progression route to a job in the industry.
You can take this course without any prior experience. It is creative and practical in nature so academic grades are not required to enrol. Point Blank ensures that students have a sound grasp of all the fundamental skills before moving on to more complex techniques in more advanced modules.
Award students take two modules concurrently. Each module you take will require your attendance at either one daytime class (11am-6pm) or two evening classes (6:30pm-9:30pm) per week. Please note your classes will be scheduled before the start of each term. Call for details and to arrange times convenient for you. In addition to classes, students are expected to schedule sufficient practice time at our studio facilities each week. The studio facilities are open 7 days a week, allowing you to gain valuable studio experience and reinforcing the skills learned in class.

Professional and Career Development Loans are commercial bank loans that can be used to help pay for work related learning. You can borrow between £300 and £10,000 to help support the cost of up to two years of learning (or three years if it includes one year’s relevant unpaid practical work). The Government will pay the interest on the loan while you are learning and for one month afterwards. You will then need to start repaying the loan as you would any other commercial loans product. The loan can be used to pay course fees or other costs such as travel and living expenses. You can also use the loan to supplement other forms of support such as grants or bursaries. As the Professional and Career Development Loan is a commercial loan product, you should make sure you have investigated all the funding options that may be open to you to ensure you take an informed decision about whether the Loan is right for you. For further information on financial assistance to support your learning visit, click here or contact the National Careers Service on 0800 100 900. Our learning provider registration number is 5742.
