Exclusive Features for students

Point Blank is proud to be ahead of the curve in delivering a fantastic student experience, whether on campus or online. During lockdown (and importantly, after the pandemic too) we are happy to provide our students with all the exclusive features listed here.

Overview

Point Blank’s Music Composition course aims to develop your all-around skills as a professional music composer-producer by teaching both key music theory knowledge as well as practical techniques for modern music software like Ableton Live. Having the ability to compose and publish your own music will open up new revenue streams for you in the music business. If you want to write great-sounding tunes for yourself or for others, it is essential to have a solid understanding of music theory, harmony, composition, and arrangement. Even if you aren't interested in setting your music to lyrics, you will still benefit from understanding how music is structured, and the quality of your tracks will be elevated. Anyone can press a few buttons to get some loops happening -- but not everyone can shape them into a dynamic and powerful composition. This college course, with its practical demonstrations and deconstructions of famous popular tracks, will help you achieve this. Including a free copy of Ableton Live 10, plus unlimited practice time, this course can be taken as a daytime or evening option. For more information on our Music Composition class, call an Admissions Officer now at 323.282.7660 or contact us via this form to guide you through the enrollment process. Watch the videos below to find out more about Point Blank and this college program!

After my first term at Point Blank I asked to move to a longer program, and it was the best decision. I have learnt invaluable skills from composition to mixing, and from what I was producing previously, my tracks are now sounding polished and professional. The instructors were brilliant, knowledgeable and helpful. They cared and had passion about what they were teaching, which meant they focused on the small details within the courses, a.k.a. the golden nuggets that they have learned throughout their careers. They even gave help freely when needed outside of class. I am using every tool since leaving PB, they've given more than what I expected, and I believe this is due to the excellent instructors they have. My only issue (if it is one) I am now broke from all the gear I have bought since I have left! But it's all worth it - highly recommended! - Ben, Music Composition student
