About the role

We seek an experienced and enthusiastic content driven Video Producer who has a passion for videography, music, and is driven by the value of higher education and supporting prospective degree students throughout the student journey. We are looking for someone to deliver informative, inspiring and impactful content for higher education recruitment projects.

This role is responsible for developing content from inception to execution and requires strong planning, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve. Point Blank’s Video Producer needs the skills to operate cameras, sound equipment and will have knowledge of video and audio editing software. This role is unique in that all video work and asset building will directly contribute to the recruitment of new students and those who are in the application process with Point Blank. Based at our London headquarters in Hoxton, you will be involved in both onsite and offsite shooting, remote and in-office working.

The post holder will be planning and delivering a range of video assets for degree audiences across multiple channels and be a key member of the team who:

  • Can build relationships with current students and Point Blank graduates
  • Understands the higher education sector and is well-connected with creative industry networks
  • Can shoot and edit a range of course promos, interviews, masterclasses and instructional videos with an aim to showcase the School’s facilities, support network, degrees and overall student experience
  • Is a team player and has meticulous attention to detail, is creative and has a can-do approach to solving creative problems

The role is heavily focused on communications with our prospective students so you will need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and will need to be comfortable shooting internal and external events across varying formats.

In short, you will be a music and education-loving, creative, goal-focused visionary who can help generate and execute video projects to create the best content for our prospects, applicants, firm offer holders and beyond.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop an annual video engagement plan to cover all key target groups including schools and colleges, parents and influencers, prospective students, applicants and firm offer holders. The plan must include content for onboarding activities such as Induction and Welcome Week, masterclasses, and workshops for recruitment which are part of our student enrichment and engagement projects
  • Create and execute course and recruitment content ideas/projects generated by the Marketing and Communications Department to assist recruitment and help to achieve targets for the School
  • Be a key contributor in content discussions and help to disseminate and execute ideas for recruitment and the School’s narrative
  • Develop concepts, prepare briefs, treatments and scripts as required for video projects
  • Create logistic plans for video projects such as call sheets, inventory lists, transportation, budgets
  • Operate video cameras, lighting, and sound recording equipment during shoots which may include but are not limited to; multi-camera operation, live camera switching, audio monitoring, data management, and live streaming
  • Adhere to the content schedule for filming and deliver projects consistently and on time
  • Edit video projects according to spec such as course videos, masterclasses, tutorials and promos whilst ensuring the content is in line with Point Blank’s brand guidelines and tone.
  • Maintain a video database that archives existing and upcoming videos and assets for recruitment projects
  • Service and maintain video production hardware
  • Manage and liaise with external parties during shoots such as talent and contractors
  • Build and call upon existing networks of graduates to create relevant aspirational content for new students
  • Create content showcasing: student services, accommodation, careers and engagement, academic and tutorial-based videos
  • Work with third-party video agencies and direct projects where necessary
  • Action on other duties as reasonably requested by the head of department or senior managers

PERSON SPECIFICATION - Essential

Education:

  • Hold a degree level qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven experience in marketing

Experience:

  • Experience in working within video production in higher education or B2C roles
  • Proven experience in education marketing or B2C commercial marketing
  • Proven experience working on student recruitment and conversion projects or equivalent B2C performance marketing projects
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe CC (Premiere, After Effects), FCP X or equivalent
  • Proficient in operating video (Blackmagic, Sony), lighting and audio equipment
  • Enthusiastic, passionate and solution focused, able to problem solve creatively
  • Team-player, can work with people from all disciplines, backgrounds and abilities
  • Strong communicator with excellent written and spoken English with effective copy / script writing / script / reading skills and comfortable liaising with internal / external stakeholders
  • Ability to create and edit successful recruitment videos, vox pop, masterclass and tutorial content to serve recruitment channels
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong planning and delivery skills across projects
  • Thorough and well-organised, can work to a brief, able to meet multiple tasks and deadlines effectively and to perform well under pressure 

PERSON SPECIFICATION - Desirable

Education:

  • Holds a qualification in video production

Experience: 

  • Experience using music production and/or DJing
  • Experience and credits in video production projects

Knowledge and skills:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of content within the music tech world and good understanding of the music industry and music production techniques
