Marketing & Social Media Coordinator (LA)

Point Blank Music School (Los Angeles) is searching for a talented Marketing & Social Media Coordinator with experience executing effective marketing and social media campaigns to represent the institution externally.

The ideal candidate must have a keen awareness of prospective student psychology, a strong sense of the shifting directions and trends in modern music, education, marketing, and social media, and an incredible ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts using various verbal, written, and visual languages to reach targeted demographics. Position Summary: The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator will work with the MSM, CAO, and other marketing team members to organize workflows and deliverables for various high-priority marketing and social media campaigns. Key programs owned by the Marketing & Social Media Coordinator are: seasonal ad campaigns, new partnership initiatives, brand partner cross-promotions, social channels, blog writing, Instagram stories, alumni & instructor spotlights, high school outreach, etc. In addition to these major initiatives, this position will be responsible for other general marketing “traffic,” including responding to partner inquiries, questions, coordinating available resources, and performing selected analyses. Many of the most important marketing initiatives center around organizational partnerships and cross promotions. To be successful, our Marketing & Social Media Coordinator must be able to balance multiple complex milestones and deliverables while pragmatically focusing on the best way to complete each.

Position Type: Temporary part-time assignment as needed; opportunity for a permanent part-time position.

Position Schedule: 3 to 4 days per week, 8 hour shifts. Exact schedule TBD upon hiring.

Reports to: Music School Manager (MSM) & Chief Academic Officer (CAO)

Specific duties and responsibilities:

· Be the voice of the Point Blank brand to the Los Angeles audience – digitally, socially, and personally

· Content creation: create branded graphic and video releases consistent with Point Blank’s style guide

· Plan and execute social posts on various platforms, timed to coincide with larger institutional initiatives

· Maintain a running content calendar 2-to-4 weeks in advance of content publication

· Publish frequent student-centered photos, videos, posts, and stories on Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, etc.

· Build and maintain relationships with prospective students on social platforms

· Communicate directly with leads through direct messages, comments, and reactions

· Direct student leads and partner inquiries to the appropriate staff members

· Provide analyses of marketing projects and make recommendations for improvements

· Provide polished copywriting for event invites, blog posts, advertisements, etc.

· Build and maintain relationships with external brand partners and execute cross-promotions

· Work directly with the corporate marketing team in London to ensure company-wide marketing projects are well-coordinated and successfully executed at the Los Angeles location

Minimum qualifications:

· Three (3) years of practical work experience in marketing & social media management

· Thorough understanding of modern marketing tactics and effective social media approaches

· Strong graphic design, image development, and video editing skills in Photoshop, iMovie, and related apps

· Excellent oral and written communication, impeccable administrative/organizational skills, scrupulous attention to detail

Preferred qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field

· Knowledge of electronic music and digital audio workstation software including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Pioneer DJ equipment, Native Instruments

· Understanding of SEO & SEM analyses and keyword targeting

General requirements:

· At least 18 years old, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to pass a background check

· Available to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends as needed

Compensation: Competitive pay commensurate with experience and qualifications. Contribution towards health care benefits provided to employees who work at least 4 days per week.
