About the role
The successful candidate will join our Marketing Department, to support all admissions activities with responsibility for administering the application process and assisting students with visa and admissions related enquiries. Reporting to the Senior Admissions Officer, you will contribute to team activities, KPI’s and implement improvement opportunities as identified by the team, including attending training sessions relevant to the role.
We seek an enthusiastic Admissions Officer, with Higher Education experience, who has a passion for music and education and is driven by supporting prospective students during the pre-enrolment and enrolment process. The ability to engage with applicants (both domestic and international) and understand Point Blank’s courses is key.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To process applications for our London and Online Higher Education courses including; maintaining applicant records, assessing qualifications, processing decisions.
- To provide support during the pre-enrolment and enrolment process.
- Assess Fee Status and provide information regarding funding options.
- To review and assess Scholarship applications.
- Servicing the Scholarship Panel and taking minutes.
- To assist Point Blank in meeting Access and Participation targets.
- To assist with international student enquiries and provide support for applicants who require a student visa to study in the UK.
- To work with offer holders to gather visa documentation in preparation for Confirmation of Acceptance of Study (CAS) issuance and update the Sponsor Management System (SMS) accordingly.
- To create acceptance letters for students requiring a Visitor Visa and provide support during this process.
- Assist the Admissions Manager and Registry staff with immigration compliance related processes, such as ID checks and audits.
- To maintain and update website content and communications for international students.
- To assist with our in-house English Language testing, including invigilation of tests, providing training to Student Ambassadors, and updating database records.
- To provide support at Open Days, Audition days and external Marketing events requiring Admissions representation.
- Develop a solid understanding of Point Blank departments and staff functions, in order to correctly refer enquiries in a helpful and positive manner.
- Apply sensitivity and discretion when dealing with confidential information and escalate complex cases to Management.
- To identify areas for improvement and proactively solve problems using creativity and logic.
- Contribute to a range of projects coordinated by the Admissions Department.
- Work flexibly as part of the Admissions Team and be available for occasional evening and weekend work as required.
- Maintain accurate student records with high attention to detail using the MS Office suite and the EMS system.

Education:
- Educated to A Level or an equivalent level 3 qualification.
Experience:
Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective and tactful communication with prospective students, applicants, students, staff and other stakeholders, including a good telephone manner.
- Ability to produce written communications to high standards of accuracy and clarity.
- Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise work demands to meet deadlines.
- Ability to learn and adhere to processes and follow regulations.
- Ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail whilst working on high volume repetitive tasks.
- A team player, with a hands-on, pragmatic approach, willing to help out where necessary and able to work well under pressure.
- Strong IT skills, including a strong knowledge of MS Office applications, reporting tools and database skills.
- Problem solving with the ability to analyse, follow-up and resolve issues.

Experience:
- Experience in assisting students with immigration related enquiries.
- Experience of using the UCAS weblink system.
Knowledge and skills:
- Knowledge of student finance and immigration in higher education.
