The presenter is more than just a voice – your interview style, journalistic research and authoritative delivery are all skills that go a long way to establishing and furthering your career. Our instructors have years of experience at the world's best radio stations and the Certificate course passes on their elite knowledge to you. Furthermore, with our Complete DJ module you'll learn how to mix music seamlessly using Pioneer's industry standard Nexus equipment. This is an incredibly useful skill for radio presenting and people like Point Blank special guests Annie Mac and Zane Lowe would back us up on this!
Part time, 2 daytime classes (11am - 6pm)
This course allows you to take advantage of Point Blank's expert instructors, outstanding facilities and practical hands on style of teaching without taking the academic route. You will receive a Point Blank Certificate on successful completion.
If you wish to gain academic accreditation you can apply for one of our accredited courses instead e.g. the Radio Broadcasting Diploma which is quality assured by Middlesex University and for which you receive a Middlesex award on successful completion (CertHE). It is an ideal progression route to a job in the industry.
Certificate students take up to two modules concurrently depending upon which course you are enrolled. Each module you take will require your attendance at either one daytime class (11am-6pm) or two evening classes (6:30pm-9:30pm) per week.
Please note your classes will be scheduled before the start of each term. Call for details and to arrange times convenient time for you. In addition to classes, students are expected to schedule sufficient studio practical work each week. The studio facilities are open to you 7 days a week gaining you valuable studio time and reinforcing the skills learned in class.

Professional and Career Development Loans are commercial bank loans that can be used to help pay for work related learning. You can borrow between £300 and £10,000 to help support the cost of up to two years of learning (or three years if it includes one year’s relevant unpaid practical work). The Government will pay the interest on the loan while you are learning and for one month afterwards. You will then need to start repaying the loan as you would any other commercial loans product. The loan can be used to pay course fees or other costs such as travel and living expenses. You can also use the loan to supplement other forms of support such as grants or bursaries. As the Professional and Career Development Loan is a commercial loan product, you should make sure you have investigated all the funding options that may be open to you to ensure you take an informed decision about whether the Loan is right for you. You can take this course without any prior experience. It is creative and practical in nature so academic grades are not required to enrol. Point Blank ensures that students have a sound grasp of all the fundamental skills before moving on to more complex techniques in more advanced modules.

We host studio tours in the Orsman Road Studio Complex every Wednesday at 5:30pm and every Saturday at 12:30pm. Address: 26 Orsman Road, Hoxton, London, N1 5QJ. Please Contact Us to make an appointment. The Admissions Team will show you around the facilities, answer questions and help get you enrolled. Classes may be available in the evenings and at weekends and we will be happy to see if we can arrange a timetable to fit around your work commitments. Please check with a Course Advisor to see what classes are available.
There are four terms per year: January, April, July and September and you can start your course at any of these entry points. However, our courses have limited availability and get booked well in advance, so we recommend enrolling as soon as you are ready to secure your place to avoid disappointment.
