Fully compatible with Logic Pro X and Ableton Live 9, Intro to Music Production gives students a thorough grounding in essential music production skills. If you are serious about becoming a producer or sound engineer, then it is crucial to master these skills before you can progress further. It is perfect for beginners, but even if you have been making music for some time, you will benefit from learning professional techniques from an experienced producer with major artist credits. Point Blank music school is a well-established Authorized Apple Training Centre and also offers its students the best equipped Ableton Live facility in the world, including 17 sought after Push 2 controllers, one for each student. This course includes a free Apple Logic 101 exam and text book. Students can make use of unlimited practice time.
1 daytime class (11am - 6pm) or 2 evening classes (6.30pm - 9.30pm)
You can take this course without any prior experience. It is creative and practical in nature so academic grades are not required to enrol. Point Blank ensures that students have a sound grasp of all the fundamental skills before moving on to more complex techniques in more advanced modules.
Students on Short Courses have one lecture day each week. Lecture days for these courses take place either one daytime class (11am-6pm) or two evening classes (6:30pm-9:30pm) per week. Your classes will be scheduled before the start of each term. Please note, Audio Mastering and Advanced Radio Production are available as evening classes only. Call for details and to arrange times convenient time for you. In addition to classes, students are expected to schedule sufficient studio practical work each week. The studio facilities are open to you seven days a week gaining you valuable studio time and reinforcing the skills learned in class.
We host studio tours in the Orsman Road Studio Complex every Wednesday at 5:30pm and every Saturday at 12:30pm. Address: 26 Orsman Road, Hoxton, London, N1 5QJ. Yes, we offer instalment plans for all our courses. To view the payment options available, click on the "Enrol Now" link above and navigate to step 2. There you can see the full payment options and payment dates for your chosen course and start date.
There are four terms per year: January, April, July and September and you can start your course at any of these entry points. However, our courses have limited availability and get booked well in advance, so we recommend enrolling as soon as you are ready to secure your place to avoid disappointment.

For courses of 6 months or more: you will most likely need to apply for a Tier 4 Visa. Point Blank has been awarded Tier 4 Sponsor Status and is able to sponsor international students on a Tier 4 Visa as long as applicants satisfy our application criteria. Please refer our International Student Guidance section for more information on the application process. NB: International Students (outside the EU) course fees are subject to a £1000 surcharge.

No. We supply all the equipment you will need for your class and for practice time.
Music Production students please note: before you decide to buy equipment for your home studio, remember that all students on the Point Blank Music Production BA (Hons) degree or Diploma courses receive a FREE Point Blank studio setup including KRK monitors, keyboard, soundcard and software. If you are not taking a BA (Hons) degree or Diploma class we will be happy to arrange student discounts from Apple Education, Ableton, Native Instruments, Pioneer and other leading industry partners.
